Salary and
Benefits: |
|
|
|
|
On an
average, the annual beginning salary for an aircraft
dispatcher at a regional airline ranges between
$28,000 and $32,000. After several years of experience,
the salaries can reach $90,000 with managers attaining
even higher pay.
As an assistant dispatcher, the major carriers’ base
salaries are usually around $40,000. Considering shift
differentials and license pay, senior flight dispatchers
make in excess of $125,000.
Benefits usually include medical and dental insurance,
life insurance, stock purchase
options and retirement plans. Many companies offer free
flight benefits for their aircraft
flight dispatchers plus free or reduced fares for their
families. |

|
Job Placement: |
|
|
|
|
The FAA
Aircraft Dispatcher license not only qualifies one
to become a certified dispatcher, but it opens the door
to many other jobs in aviation. The first interviews and
jobs will be with the regional airlines and in the
corporate sector of aviation. After gaining valuable
dispatching experience, interviews can begin with the
major airlines.
Also, internationally there is a large demand for
applicants with the FAA Aircraft Dispatcher license. |
